George Nooks Cocaine Trial Pushed Back

Lyrics

George Nooks cocaine trial has been pushed back to March of next year. The singer is currently out on bail so the judge also extended his bond. George Nooks was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine in May of this year. Cops say that he was acting suspicious and then threw a bag he was carrying inside his car. “He (Nooks) has been disputing what has taken place and that has not changed. I don’t think I will be able to comment on the plan moving forward for the defence,” Martin said. According to the police report, Nooks, 56, was stopped and search by officers who were carrying out an operation in Widcombe Heights, Kingston 6. He was booked for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act and subsequently granted bail to the tune of $80,000. The Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court judge, Justice Vaughn Smith, rescheduled the case to March 27, 2018. The case for the embattled reggae singer turned up for court on Wednesday where the long awaited trial was set to begin. The reggae icon’s attorney, Donahue Martin, says his client disputes what took place on the day of the arrest. A search was conducted and approximately two ounces of the illegal drug was found in the bag.
